Dual Dock Alarm Clock Review

This is my second iHome, the first was a single dock that worked for about 6 months and then the volume and tuner knobs stopped working. Luckily we saved the remote or this would be in the trash. My new, 2 month old, iHome (dual dock) is still working, but two of the lit buttons do not light anymore (see the importance of this in next paragraph). Both units have decent sound quality and options. There are multiple alarms which are helpful.

As far as the design of the dual dock iHome goes, I wish iHome would figure out a few things. For one, the buttons are all flush with the body, so it is impossible to set, reset etc, the alarm without turning the lights on or upping the light control on the iHome (since the lit buttons aren't lighting anymore, bedroom lights must come on). Oh yeah that - when you press the snooze bar, the iHome lights toggle through the different brightness settings. This seems like a good idea, and it is totally necessary since even at the lowest setting it lights up my whole room. The bad part of this design is that to sleep, the iHome lights have to be off (unless you like a lit room) and because of that you can't read the time.

iHome must use the cheapest switches that they can find because both iHomes that I have had switch problems within a few months. they have the best sound for the price, as well as options. I wouldn't buy one without a waranty (include that in the purchase price for comparison).

Timex Color Change Dual Alarm AM/FM Clock Radio with Bedtime Beats - T205 Review

This seemed like the perfect alarm clock for me. I loved that you could change the colors and even have it not lite up at all. And the idea that I could be awoken to the sound of a stream or to ocean waves was a wonderful thought. But you have no choice to what sounds you wake to. I contacted customer service and indeed there is no choice. You wake to the first Nature Sounds and it rotates through them. But that is no good. It isn't even a nature sound it is a tune. And who lets the alarm keep going...just to get to the sound you want to wake to. But each time it goes off, it is back to sound 1.

I also had an issue with the snooze feature. It was snoozing for 10 min. But today, after hitting snooze the alarm went off every 2 min.

I think I am going to return this unit, which in itself is a pain since I already threw out the packaging and now will have to go to the post office.

The snooze function only working for 2 min. may be a malfunction, but not being able to choose which sound of the nature sounds you wake to is just unacceptable if that is the main reason for buying this product.

The title says it.

You won't be able to receive many stations you can get on most radios. The tuner dial is very inaccurate. Stations overrun each other. You can hardly see the time in daylight because it is so dim. You can't see the tuner dot unless bright light is shining at it.

Let's see... could this item be worse? No, and it will cost you way too much to return it. Take the money and just burn it instead of buying this clock radio.

Timex Digital Tuning Dual Alarm Clock Radio w/ Projection and MP3 - Black ( T436B ) Review

This clock is really nice. It has good radio reception, the adjustable Indiglo backlight for the display is clear, the projection feature is nice, and the speaker itself is good. This is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. If you're like me, this clock isn't that good, if you're the opposite, then it may be 4 or 5 stars.

What bothered me were the backlight, the date, and the alarm. The backlight feature is a permanent setting when used, in the sense that it will be on or at that level of brightness all the time. I would have loved a separate setting that allowed the backlight to be turned on (push a button) and then it shuts off after 10-30 seconds for checking time in the middle of the night.

This clock keeps track of the date as well, however, if you set an alarm, it will replace the date view with the earliest alarm set. Since I wasn't expecting the clock to keep track of the date, this didn't bother me, but it didn't make sense to me to see the alarm time all the time.

The feature that drove me to return this clock, the deal breaker, is the Alarm itself. First, there is no actual alarm buzzer/beep sound. Second, the alarm sound used is the last setting you chose on the clock (radio/natural sounds/MP3 input) at the sound level you had it at. I can be a heavy sleeper, and the alarm on this clock does not increase volume over time or have it's own beeping sound independent of the radio, natural sounds, or MP3 input. Before sleeping, I like to turn the radio on for some music on a 15 minute timer, but this is with low volume; hence I could not rely on the alarm of this clock without sacrificing listening to the radio before I sleep.

I was a disappointed by this product because the time on the projector has to be set separately and the projector only rotates forwards and backwards.If you are looking at the clock, projecting forward, the time appears backwards.You cannot turn the projector so that it appears "right".The clock radio is good, but I ended up buying another product and will sell this one in yard sale or give to Goodwill.
