I wanted a clock radio with a large screen but one that looked relatively stylish as well. This Magnavox fit the bill with numerals nearly 1.5 inches tall (which is unusually large for a clock radio). It's easy to see the time from far across the room.The appearance of the unit is also really nice, with rounded edges and some minimalist modern flair, as opposed to the boxy black mediocrity that you normally find in this price category ($15-20).
Lastly, the radio on this unit has excellent sound quality and projects well across my large living room. The sound quality is crystal clear and doesn't sound muffled the way most clock radios of this price do.
My only gripe is that the internal antenna seems highly vulnerable to movement in the room, and I'll often times have good reception when I'm standing near the radio, but as I move away from it, the sound becomes static-filled. This doesn't happen all the time, and it seems to depend on the placement of the radio on my shelf (if I move it half an inch one way or the other, it usually fixes the static issues), but it does get annoying on occasion.
