We bought this as our four-year old's first clock - thought it would be perfect since he and his brother love all things Lego.But then we plugged it in.
The back-light on the numbers was so bright he couldn't sleep, even on the low-light setting.It lit up his whole room.And after just one day, the switch to turn the back-light on or off broke.You can't see the time when the radio is on - it only displays the radio station until you turn the radio off.It claims to be a digital turner, however we had to tune everything a few tenths away from the actual station number in order to get a decent signal.(For instance, to get the station on 101.1, you had to tune to 101.5.)
Needless to say, we returned it and do not recommend anyone buy it!

I surprised my 10 year old son for his birthday in November. He is obsessed with Bakugan and I thought this was a great way to buy something a little different. Santa brought this for my son for Christmas.He's 8 and wanted to get himself up for school.We tried a cheap clock, but he lost interest in it because let's face it, at this age...they still look at things as a toy.We decided to get this clock because it looked fun and it is!He obsesses over the thing.It has a volume control, but he likes his LOUD.It talks to them and tells them "Let's get going, time to start the day" and then honks the horn and screeches the tires.If that's too obnoxious for some, no worries...it also has the radio feature as well as the standard alarm sound.You won't be disappointed!
I was very excited about finding this clock for my 8 year old son.Thankfully, he was as excited as I was when he opened it.So far it works wonderfully and it's easy for him to use.Great buy!
