This is a fun little device - the perfect size with plenty of features.It fits on my nightstand in place of your typical alarm clock, not taking up any extra room.It easily packs up to go on the road with you.It has custom adapters included for every size of docking iPod, as well as a connector for non-docking iPods.Great sound, great control of sleep vs. wake volumes, and a nice dimming feature with 4 settings to it, so that the light of the clock doesn't keep you awake.And if you forget to dock your iPod, the buzzer alarm will still sound (actually it's a beeping alarm).

If you are a heavy sleeper, or like 90 minutes of sleep music in addition to your wake music, I recommend putting your iPod on shuffle all songs before docking it on this station so that you won't get to the end of your playlist and run out of music.

I only have two complaints about the iHome 2 Go travel alarm clock.One is that my clock seems to gain a few minutes every day, so it ends up being very fast.I reset the time once a week.The other is that I have to remove my iSkin to dock my iPod.I was sure when I bought the skin that it said I wouldn't have to remove it to dock the iPod, but because of how the docking works on this station, I do.

I purchased this item because it had a red digital readout so that it would not light up the entire bedroom.That was fine but after receiving the unit and trying it out, I discovered that the alarm does not work with the iPod.One must manually operate the iPod as the clock will not communicate with it.If I listen to my iPod before going to sleep then the alarm will go to iPod mode in the morning but it will not turn on the iPod.It is NOT an iPod alarm clock, it is merely an radio alarm clock through which one can play an iPod.

IPod IRise - AM/FM Radio And Alarm Clock Review

This thing has constant hum coming from the speakers, even when connected to an iPod nano. At high volume its poor quality shows well, with plenty of distortion and clipping. Clock and alarm are hard to setup. It doesn't control your iPod sound, which is annoying because you have to press the buttoms in the ipod in a incovenient position when docked.
Not worth the price charged in any way.

This product was/is kind of misrepresented, and not only on this website. It is not a true iHome.It would not take my niece's iPod, and it is not a docking station.We purchased from computer brain, explained the situation, and they gave us our purchase price and shipping back.We thought this was a class act and would purchase from them again if they were to sell a product we are interested in.

I don't know how to rate it but Timex has been around awhile and it looks like a good product.

Tivoli Audio SongBook AM / FM Alarm Clock Travel Radio, Silver Review

With iPod auxiliary, premium speaker, and above average AM/FM reception, the Songbook is an attractive radio. I've had mine for 3 years. It locks on stations well. The speaker is not overwhelming in volume or bass but produces a warm sound. The speaker is not as rich as Tivoli's brother, the Model One, but the Songbook, perhaps because of its telescopic antenna, gets far better FM reception. One of the advantages of the silver color is that it is aluminum, not rubber like the other colors and the rubber radios hold dirt, which is not easy to clean.

If the Songbook is too pricey for you, you can get similar speaker sound and superior AM/FM reception from the similarly sized Sangean PR-D7 (3-inch mono speaker) or the Sangean PR-D5 (2.5-inch dual stereo speakers).

Teac HD-1 - Clock radio with iPod cradle Review

I've had this radio for about a month.I purchased it as a replacement for my 25 year-old alarm clock radio, and also to see what HD radio was like.Overall, the workmanship of the radio is fine, and the sound quality is decent, given the size and price.The radio has quite a few features packed in for the money, and from that standpoint, it is a good buy.FM reception is good.AM reception is average.

As I primarily use this as an alarm-clock radio, my review comes from using the radio for that purpose.I don't use the iPod docking function, or use the radio for casual listening.As such, the radio has some short-comings as an alarm-clock radio, and that's why I only gave it three stars. If used the radio primarily for something else, like casual daytime listening or an iPod dock, I could easily see rating it higher.The issues with the alarm clock function are as follows:

1) The display is way too bright for an alarm-clock radio, even on the dimmest setting.Particularly if the radio is sitting on a nightstand next to the bed.There are are three brigthness settings, but very little difference between them. Due to the brightness of the backlight, it is very difficult to glance over and see the time when it is dark if you've been sleeping and have just waken up.Backlit LCD is not the best display technology for an alarm-clock application.

2) When the alarm starts the radio, the time is no longer displayed.You can push a button to display the time, but it reverts back to the radio information.Not exactly convenient if you are laying in bed and need to see what time it is.During the alarm-clock function, a time display is more important than the radio station frequency or other HD information.The radio display function should have a display modes with a large time display that can be permanently selected.Perhaps along the bottom where the HD radio information scrolls by.The Sony radios have this feature.

3) When the radio is used as an alarm, the radio turns off 1 hour after it first goes off.For me, 1 hour is a little short, especially if I hit snooze a couple of times.My old radio used a two hour time period.Ideally, this setting could be adjustable.

4) The snooze is 6 minutes.That's a little short for me.Again, it would be nice if this setting was adjustable.

The last three issues could be fixed with some software changes.The first item would require a hardware change. Maybe I can find some tinted plastic film that could be fitted over the display to tone it down a bit.

iMode Alarm Clock Radio iPod Docking Station (Black) Review

I was so excited to receive my iMode from my wife for Christmas 2008. All the main features seemed to work -- AM/FM Radio, iPod, Alarm Clock x 2 -- except the remote control. It comes with a battery. Since it didn't worked, I assumed it was drained and I replaced it with a new battery. It still didn't work. This was disappointing, because this was not a simple on/off remote. This remote allowed the user to complete EVERY function that can be done on the console of the iMode itself. This is a rare completely inclusive remote for the price.

I called the maker of iMode for a replacement remote since the product is under warranty. I was told to exchange it at the store for a new one (makes sense). I asked what to do if the store didn't have it, and Curtis told me to call them back for a remote. The store was indeed sold out of them, and was not planning on restocking after the holiday (holiday promotion). I called iMode maker back as requested. They told me that I must return it to the store, that the store must call iMode maker to explain that they sold a product with faulty remote, Curtis would then send the new remote to the store where I could pick it up. After all this above action taken, iMode maker told the store that the customer must request the remote under the warranty. I'm done...I left the iMode at the store and requested a full refund. I'm sad to write this review, since the product is potentially great (especially for the bang for the buck), but the low quality of the product and the low quality of the customer service and return policy/protocol, left me with the feeling of iMust Return My iMode.

My daughter loves this clock radio. I don't like the fact that it does not charge her Ipod. Charging was a very important part of our decision to buy this product. The information in the ad stated that it was compatible with all IPODS. When we put the Ipod on the clock radio it says the it does not charge this Ipod! That was very frustrating. I called the manufacturer and they told me it doesn't charge the 5th generation Ipod!

Tivoli Audio SongBook AM / FM Alarm Clock Travel Radio, Blue Review

The new Tivoli Songbook is one sweet, versatile radio.I was reluctant to order it because it was brand new model and I couldn't find any reviews, but I'm glad I overcame my reluctance and purchased this radio.I consider it expensive for an AM/FM radio so I expect serious performance for the money--I was not disappointed.It's Tivoli, so I expected sound quality and Tivoli delivers.The sound isn't quite as full as the Model One, but it's more than adequate.For talk radio, it's simply the best sound I've heard from any radio.

One reason I hesitated purchasing was because I planned to use this as a table radio more than a travel radio--the lack of external antenna jacks was a concern because I have trouble with AM reception in my area.The real surprise was the reception--this small radio locked on and pulled in signals that I have trouble pulling in with some of my better radios like the GE Superadio or Grundig Satellit 800--all while delivering a clear, clean signal.Admittedly, I'm not a DXer, and I'm not suggesting this is the radio for that purpose, but it's performance, particularily on AM, is impressive for such a small package.

Performance was great using the aux input on a Sirius tuner as well as MP3 and CD.

Overall, it has the look and feel--as well as performance--of a quality product.

One thing that you should be aware of--this model uses an outboard transformer--a relatively large wall wart.That negates some of the travel versatility, IMO, but isn't a problem for home use. One of the smart design features is the wall hang slot on the back--I promptly mounted the thing over my nightstand and cleared off the space formerly eaten up by my cheap, tinny sounding clock radio.

It's a rare day that a product meets my expectations, much less exceeds them, but this is a great radio!

Rca Rc59I Clock Radio with Ipod Dock Review

I saw this for sale at a local store, so I thought I would do some digging for information. Unfortunately, there is almost zero. It doesn't say it anywhere online or on the box, but this will indeed charge your iPhone 3G. It's possible that they did not want to pay for licensing. Since it will charge the 3G, it should charge all of the new non-firewire iPods (Nano 5G, etc).

It's nice and compact, but certainly sturdy. Once you take a leaf through the instruction manual, it's very easy to use. Not one of those things I recommend to start pushing buttons feet-first, because you'll probably be woken up at 2:30am by accident.

What else can I say about it? It charges my iPhone, plays pretty well (a 5.1 system this isn't), has an aux-in for a Zune, etc, has dual-alarms with 3-4 different options each. If you're looking for a cheap replacement for your firewire-charging alarm clock, this is a good choice.
