I received this radio five days ago.I needed a decent clock radio that played cds, had a repeat button, and was unobtrusive enough to be on the nightstand.When the radio showed up there were no instructions in the box, which I figured was okay since it's just a clock radio.After I got it plugged in and the time set, I tried to play a cd.The power button wouldn't turn it on.With no instructions I felt stupid not being able to figure it out.I left it plugged in over night and the alarm worked fine on the morning.The next night I tried the power button again and was able to play a cd all night to help me sleep.The cd player makes a whirring noise that was distracting.Since my sleep cds are mostly white noise the extra noise was annoying.I think if it was music it might not have been so noticeable.The next night I was all set to play a cd at bedtime and, again, no power.That was Thursday night and it's now Sunday and, with the exception of the clock and alarm, there hasn't been power since the second night.I don't hear any short so I think it's just a bad machine, maybe too cheap.I'm returning it tomorrow.

Coby AM/FM Alarm Clock Radio Review

This alarm clock seems to have been designed for elderly people who have difficulty seeing and hearing.First, the the clock is very large.I mean, it's greater than a foot long; you will have no trouble seeing what time it is from the other room (note to insomniacs: glow from eerie green numbers = more time staring at ceiling).Second, there are only two options for a wake up call: (1) the loudest buzzer ever constructed by humans; or (2) a radio that, admittedly, I have not tried (who uses that option anyway?).This clock is a real find for people losing their senses of sight and hearing, but for those of you with undiminished eyes and ears, you might want another clock in the interest of staying that way.

Casio Auto Calendar Digital Travel Alarm Clock Review

This clock works well as a battery operated alarm clock.However, Casio really could have thought through the "travel" part better.Although it's light enough, it's too large for a travel clock.And there's no cover for the controls, so my first set of batteries died when something in my bag pressed against the snooze/light button for the whole flight.If you're looking for a battery operated alarm for your nightstand, this is a decent clock.If you really want a travel alarm, look elsewhere (or at least pack the batteries separately).

GPX D715 AM/FM/CD Digital Clock Radio with Dual Alarm Review

This item worked real well and then all of a sudden the buttons would not work. I could not change the time, set the alarm, or even turn on the CD player or radio. The alarm still worked, but I had to set it to get up at the time previously set because it would not change. It was not just one button it was all of them. Nothing worked. It was like they had a timer and shut down all of a sudden. It happened only a week after the 90 day warrranty period was over.

Philips AJ3136 Groovy FM Alarm Clock Radio Review

The problems I have with this unit are numerous:
1) The display is backlit *only* when you press the face of the unit.Which means you can't tell what time it is at night unless you reach over and push the face.
2) The phyiscal orientation of the unit determines which alarm you hear, but the controls to turn off the alarm are only on one side.You will have to pick up the unit, turn it around, hunt down the little alarm on/off button, and put it back down on the side you want.No thanks.
3) The sleep function only sounds the alarm three times.Once you've snoozed the third time, the alarm won't sound again until the next morning.A great way to miss work :(
Yes, it looks cool; yes, the alarms are very nice and will wake even a sound sleeper.But if any of the negatives above sound annoying to you, you'll probably find this unusable.
