We've had two of these products for the past three years.They perform well, do the job, and for 10 bucks, I think they are a good deal.I've read the other reviews, but our experience with the 40001 alarm has been good--I've carried this with me on travel, and never missed an appointment.

Curtis IP215 Alarm Clock Radio/iPod Docking Station Review

I've had this iPod docking station for a couple of years, and it's probably one of the best purchases I've made. I don't know why people buy bargain speakers and expect theatre quality sound, but they do. Don't make that mistake with this unit. It will pump up the volume (exactly what I need!) but this is not a surround sound Dolby THX'ed Wonderdock. It's a clock radio with a place to dock your iPod so that you can play it and charge it at the same time.

I frequently move this between a couple of rooms, and I've dropped it more than once. I've also spilled stuff on it, and it works the same as it did when I took it out of the box the day I bought it. I don't use the clock or alarm, so I can't really comment on how well that functions, but the buttons appear to be pretty straightforward and easy to understand if I wanted to start. I occasionally listen to a local radio station on it, and I have no issues with reception.

There's a place in the bottom for a couple of AAA batteries in case of a power outage, and in the back there are in & out aux outlets, along with a "video out" port. I've never used the ports, but it does appear to be a versatile dock. There's also a switch in the back to turn doiwn the brightness of the clock display. The display is VERY bright at night and could double as a night light. I find the brightness disturbing to my sleep even at the low setting and stuck a label over it since I don't use the clock portion anyway.

The design is very sleek and modern looking, sure to go well with most decor, and it looks nice on a dresser (if you haven't spilled something on it like I have!). For the durability, sound quality, volume output, and apparent multi-functionality, I don't think there's a lot out there that can surpass this iPod dock. It's an excellent little workhorse for someone like me who plays their iPod 24/7, needs the volume output and is a little bit clumsy. I think overall it will please most users.

RCA RC65i - Clock radio with iPhone / iPod cradle Review

I am more than happy with my purchase of this iPod alarm clock radio. It is just the right size and fits perfectly on my night stand with a ton of extra space.
- It is actually smaller in footprint than my previous iHome IH9 iPod Alarm Clock. And I actually like this unit better than that one.
- The appearance is very professional with a silver metal and plastic finish on the front with black on the rear. Sound quality is above average for this class of product, although I am not quite sure if it beats the iHome, but it is definitely very close in quality.
- I also like how they use touch controls on the front of the unit for: iPod, Radio, AUX, and Off. The AUX input is obviously a huge plus as you can play any media player that has a typical head phone jack on it.
- The controls are very simple, to set an alarm only requires one button push (or two or three of same button if you want to be waken up by the iPod or AUX).
- The only thing that is somewhat annoying is the fact that the deeper controls are recessed behind the front and kind of hard to figure out if your not looking directly over them.

Other than that I am very happy with my new iPod alarm clock. I got it at a great price and I would definitely recommend it at this price as well as the iHome is nearly $30 more expensive than this one.

Maverick CL-116 Color-Coded LCD Weather Station and AM/FM Stereo Radio with Talking Alarm Clock Review

The clock changes color based on temperature and anounces the time, date and temperature. The color changing does work as advertised, but there are many problems with this clock. It is hard to see the numbers on the clock as it is always too dark for my eyes no matter what color it changes to. The temperature seems to run too low. There is no atomic time adjustmnet so you have to set the clock manually. The radio sounds very bad. It is poorly made as the knobs keep falling off. The worst problem is that when you set the alarm to the radio you hear the alarm part, then the anouncement and then finally the radio and there is no way to set it differently then that. The alarm always goes on no matter what you do and it is too loud and there is no volume for the alarm part, just the radio. This is just a poorly made and poorly thought out clock. True that it has some features other clocks do not have, but the problems outweigh any feature it has. Their R-495 model is a better clock with the same features except for the voice anouncement and is cheaper so I would go with that model instead of this one.

I purchased this item because it had a red digital readout so that it would not light up the entire bedroom.That was fine but after receiving the unit and trying it out, I discovered that the alarm does not work with the iPod.One must manually operate the iPod as the clock will not communicate with it.If I listen to my iPod before going to sleep then the alarm will go to iPod mode in the morning but it will not turn on the iPod.It is NOT an iPod alarm clock, it is merely an radio alarm clock through which one can play an iPod.

Coby Digital AM/FM Alarm Clock Radio Review

It would get 5 stars from me if it weren't from China.But it is just what I wanted so I'll keep it.It is simple to operate.

When did alarm clocks become high tech?My last alarm clock, purchased because my 30 year old clock radio died, was a nightmare.I couldn't figure out how to get it set they way I wanted.I thought I had it right but it either didn't go off, or went off at random.The controls were almost impossible to see, and were so touchy I seemed to have changed settings without knowing it.

In this little gem, the controls can be seen and manipulated with older eyes and fingers not adapted to tiny controls.It does what I think it is going to do, that is go off at 6:00 am with the station I selected. The red display doesn't light up the room. It is also very inexpensive, but I would have paid more for one not made in China, if I could have found one with the same features.
