Seiko Clock - Seiko QHR008SLH Radio Controlled Get Up N Glow Bedside Alarm Clock Review

I will never buy another Seiko product again!!

First of all, the display was very dim, even when the backlight was on. Second, when lying in bed at night, I couldn't read the display with the backlight on unless I lifted the back of the clock and tilted it toward me. Finally, I found that the alarm was starting to go off an hour early. I thought I was going crazy because the clock and the alarm times were set properly. The clock then went off again at the correct time.

So, during the daytime on weekend day I set the clock alarm for a time in the near future and waited to see what happened. Lo and behold, the hour number displayed flickered from time to time to next hour. I set the alarm accordingly and sure enough the clock went off an hour early!! (The clock was only 3 months old at the time.)

The clock had a 1-year warrantee so I contacted Amazon and they washed their hands of the deal referring me to Princeton Watches who actually sold the clock. Princeton of course passed the buck to Seiko. I contacted Seiko and they told me that they would fix or repair it. However, I would have to find box to ship it in. They wouldn't pay for the box or the shipping. They told me that it would take 4 to 6 weeks to return it to me. I asked if they could send me a replacement first if I gave them a charge account number which they could debit. When they got my broken one, they would credit it. Seiko wouldn't do that.

It just wasn't worth the further bother to fix. So, I threw the clock in the garbage, a $45+ mistake. I bought a nice Timex clock locally for less than two thirds the price.

Equity 20061 Classic Analog Clock with Ascending Alarm Review

The quality of this clock is so poor it is almost laughable.Every night is an adventure.Will the clock stop?Will the alarm work?I was surprised when I opened my order and discovered I had received two clocks.Now I know why.You need a back up.The battery doesn't sit snuggly in its case.Fortunately the clock has an annoyingly loud tick, so when it decides to stop i can reach over to my night table and give it a shake.

Equity 40001 LCD Insta-Set Travel Alarm Clock Review

We've had two of these products for the past three years.They perform well, do the job, and for 10 bucks, I think they are a good deal.I've read the other reviews, but our experience with the 40001 alarm has been good--I've carried this with me on travel, and never missed an appointment.

COBY CR-A68S Dual Alarm Clock Radio, Silver Review

A nice looking product, but form should follow function....and it doesn't perform that well. Clock is somewhat difficult to read...darker than any other led clocks I own.Also, the radio is difficult if not impossible to tune.Most of my favorites come in mixed with another.Alarm works well however.And for $10 what was I expecting?
So it went in the guest room.Let them complain.

With 20/20 vision in bright light, it is very difficult to read theswitches that switch between cd and radio. Two switches must be set correctly to switch between radio and cd. If you're only going to use it for one use, radio or cd then it's ok, but if you want both, do this test. Look at the unit in the store, imagine you're in bed in dim light and try to switch between cd and radio modes. If you can do it, buy it.

Emerson Dual-Alarm Clock Radio - CK5051 Review

My husband and I really enjoyed this clock. Why we don't have it anymore has nothing to do with how it performed. It was a great clock. We liked how the numbers were large. That LED light makes it soothing to look at as well. No bright red, yellow or green lights. Just a nice blue(and there is a dimmer switch on it if it is too bright for you). It's taller than it is long which makes it a nice space saver. We also had quite a few storms last year, and if your power goes out and comes back on later (even after 2 days like what happened to us, the right time WILL show up again) And as an added bonus, the alarm still goes off on time if it is plugged in and the power is out (so long as you put a battery in it of course :D ). About that snooze button. We had no problems with that either. If you set the clock away from where you sleep, so you have to get up to turn it off, then you will actually look to see where the snooze/radio buttons are. Of course you're going to hit another button if you just reach over the bed, eyes half shut, and slap the thing. We had no problem finding the buttons with our eyes wide open. One more compliment has to be that we didn't find the buzzer annoying either. It was actually pleasant compared to every other one we tried out in the store. Go ahead, try them out. You'll see what we mean. It's more of a beep than a BUZZ! Which was really nice. Me personally I have to have the buzzer on. Otherwise I will fall back asleep to the music, and the one thing I can't stand to hear when I first wake up in the morning, is a loud BUZZ sound. Praise God, they made one that BEEPS for a change. Emerson Digital CD Clock Radio - Silver (CKD9902) Review

Timex T105WX Color Changing Alarm Clock (White Gift Box) Review

The backlight went out after just 2 days....it no longer lights up on either the face or shell.
Before that I was still not happy with it, anyway. Even when it did work the outside shell light was too bright to sleep next to when set to any color other than red, even with the dimmer set to low.
Also, barely bumping the LCD screen would leave black marks in the display you'd have to try to shake or massage out.
The only good thing about this clock was the idea. But it was very poorly done.

This is a very nice looking clock and functions very well as stated in the product discription, except for me I CAN'T SEE IT AT NIGHT OR ANY OTHER TIME.The light is almost non existant, so forget trying to see it at night, which is why I bought it in the first place.The design is such that a bedside lamp doesn't shine light on it.The only way I can actually see what time it is, is to physically pick up the clock and look at it straight onI wish someone would manufacture a bedside clock that would have the day, date, month, indoor temp, and stay lit all night without pushing a button. Clock itself is decent, except very hard to figure out w/o manual.For those who have lost manual, below may be helpful:

SETTING THE TIME ZONE
* In the Normal Time Display, press the [MODE] key to enter
the Alarm Time Mode.
* Press the [SET] key to set the desired time zone.
* Press the [MODE] to return to the time mode position.

SETTING THE ALARM

...a low-tech electric alarm clock.I bought this as a gift for my picky mother, who was distraught that her old bedside clock--a version similar to this one--died after many years faithful service. She wanted an electric clock (with a plug, not batteries) with a lighted dial and this one filled the bill. Simple, no frills..it tells the time and wakes you up. She also likes the silent operation (no ticking) and the soft-glow (kind of a pale orange) of the clock face. The first one I sent her didn't work, but Amazon replaced promptly with no issues.

Equity 30330 1-Inch LCD Green Display Alarm Clock Review

I was looking for a small, pretty basic alarm clock and so glad I found the Equity 30330 because it suits my needs perfectly. I didn't want one with all the bells and whistles, my husband has had one like that on his side of the bed for 6 years and I still can't figure out how to work it. Some must haves for me were that it be cordless, and especially had a display light that wouldn't bother me when I was going to sleep (not too bright). Seems to me from reading some other reviews that this is a common issue with people. For me, the little lights on my DVD player even bother me so I was very hesitant to order any alarm clock online without seeing it in person but I'm very glad I took a shot. This nifty clock is just perfect for me, the display is dim (soothing on the eyes), not too dim that I can't read it but rather just perfect where it doesn't bother me at all when I go to sleep (I believe this is what they are referring to in the description as "nightvision"). It also has a display sensor where if you wave your hand over the snooze button, the display will temporarily light up much brighter (LOVE this feature). It's so easy to set and has not failed me even once. I LOVE the snooze because it will just keep going off until I finally get out of bed, my last alarm clock would snooze 2x and then turn off (of course I would still be sleeping after it turned off...not good). Not much else to say about this clock other than for $13.00 I'm very happy with it. Is it fancy? no but it is rather contemporary looking as opposed to many others I've seen. Basically, I'm up and on time every day, can't ask for more than that. I would definitely purchase this again and highly recommend it.

HoMedics Sound SPA Premier Sound Machine Clock Radio with Atomic & Indoor/Outdoor Temperature Review

I've owned this product now for 6 months and have found that it works as advertised. Complaints that the display is too bright at night ignore the fact that users hypersensitive to light can turn the backlight off and go with only the projected light at night. (The projected light is not bright enough to keep any normal person awake; in fact even when one is dark-adapted the projected display is quite faint.) Many reported problems with the time are due to inadvertently pressing the button that determines the time zone. I did this on one occasion myself and realized my error when the time jumped forward two hours. Complaints that the radio is "low fi" are the result of unreasonable expectations. This unit is not intended as a replacement for a dedicated audio system. I have found the temperature readings on the indoor and outdoor displays to be accurate within a degree Fahrenheit or less, compared with readings on an independent thermometer. In summary, I have found the HoMedics Premier Sound Spa to be an excellent consumer-level device which works as advertised and which is great value for the money. I would not want to be without it.
